At this year’s Future of Fashion event during London Fashion Week, every guest and model accessed the venue through the same doors together. While there was already a platform lift down the side of the building, this didn’t allow everyone to share the same journey into the venue. This shared entrance allowed all attendees to feel included and part of the experience from the very first step.

Bullock Inclusion CIC organised the wonderful Future of Fashion event, centred on inclusion, accessibility, and representation. Bullock Inclusion worked with The Stair Climbing Company and Enable Access to ensure that every guest and model entered through the front doors, rather than some guests having to enter the Future of Fashion event through a rear level-access door.
The Stair Climbing Company provided an innovative stair climber that carries disabled users and wheelchair users up and downstairs with ease. This provided another safe and comfortable access solution to the steps at the front of the building.
Enable Access were privileged to provide the Aerolight High Rise ramp. This British built innovative portable ramp provided safe and seamless access over the steps and up to the front entrance. Together, these technologies provided accessibility to the otherwise inaccessible but beautiful front entrance of the Future of Fashion venue.
The Future of Fashion event opened incredible conversations around inclusive design, bringing in a panel of thought leaders including Berni Yates, Dr Carolyn Mair, and Rama Gheerawo. The event’s ethos, as shared by Future of Fashion, was that inclusion is multisensory, and culture is a connection. This was brought to life by many powerful performances during the event.
This wonderful old venue had three steps leading up to the front entrance, and therefore required a ramp that could overcome this number of steps while maintaining a safe and sensible gradient. Being a heritage building, and for an event, the solution needed to be easily moveable and not fixed in place. The Aerolight High Rise met these requirements effortlessly – a portable ramp solution that was easy to put in place, provided a seamless access route, and maintained a safe gradient.
