A low internal lip, a single-sided doorstep and a raised uPVC frame need different ramp shapes. A wedge approaches from one side, while a bridging ramp spans the threshold and may need to accommodate different floor heights on each side. For a manual or powered wheelchair, check clear width, combined user and chair weight, approach space and whether assistance will be available. A portable threshold ramp can be positioned when access is needed and stored afterwards, which may suit shared entrances or occasional visits. A leave-in-place wedge can provide a consistent route for daily use where the doorway, surface and product allow it.
